We took a modern approach to dating—online!

Steph was ready to be done with online connections, and Rob decided to send one last message on Christmas Day. Yes—right in the middle of COVID lockdown.

Rob later admitted that if Steph hadn’t called him back, he probably wouldn’t have reached out again. We truly believe it was a miracle from God that we met—a divine appointment.

From the very first phone call, the connection was easy: effortless conversations, hours of laughter, sharing stories, and discovering our shared love of nature, camping, and the great outdoors. Before long, we agreed to meet in person.

On a cold, wintry January 2, 2021, at Galway Bay Irish Restaurant in downtown Annapolis, Steph immediately noticed Rob’s big, warm smile—and the first date felt easy and natural. Rob even arrived with a gift: firewood and a propane torch. A clever way to earn an invitation into Steph’s living room and show off his impressive fire-starting skills!

As they say, the rest is history. Together, Steph and Rob have shared incredible adventures, beautiful kayaking trips, and plenty of “campfire” love along the way.

We are so grateful to have our friends and family with us as we begin our next beautiful adventure—together as husband and wife.
